About the Role

Position Summary
The Direct Support Professional at Access Safe Care, LLC is a vital member of our team responsible for providing support to eligible individuals who require assistance with daily living, self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills. This role focuses on improving participants' ability to independently reside and actively participate in their integrated community. The Direct Support Professional operates under the guidance and supervision of the Program Coordinator and is committed to upholding the values of our agency.

Essential Functions
Under the direction and supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Direct Support Professional is responsible for but not limited to:

1. Skills Development
- Assisting individuals in acquiring and enhancing basic living and employment skills.
- Collaborating with participants to foster self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills that promote independent living.

2. Personal Care
- Providing personal care as specified in individualized service plans to support participants' health and well-being.

3. Environment Maintenance
- Assisting individuals in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized living and working environment.

4. Schedule Management
- Aiding participants in organizing and managing their schedules as required.

5. Transportation
- Providing transportation services as assigned to ensure participants' access to essential activities and appointments.

6. Reporting and Compliance
- Vigilantly reporting all incidents of Abuse, Neglect, or Exploitation in accordance with agency policies and applicable regulations.

7. Team Collaboration
- Working collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating agency values including Dependability, Adaptability, Professionalism, and Teamwork.

8. Positive Interaction
- Interacting positively with participants and treating them with respect, dignity, and compassion at all times.

9. Confidentiality
- Safeguarding the confidentiality of individuals receiving services and their health information.

10. Medication Administration
- Administering medications, insulin, and tube feeding as assigned and in compliance with relevant certifications.

11. Dietary Support
- Assisting with menu planning and meal choices in adherence to recommended dietary guidelines and healthy eating practices.

12. Training and Data Collection
- Actively participating in staff training, in-service sessions, and team meetings.
- Collecting data to monitor and assess progress towards personal objectives.

13. Additional Duties
- Performing any other duties assigned by the Program Coordinator or agency leadership.

Requirements

- Must be 18 years or older and in good standing as a student.

- Possession of a high school diploma or GED.

- Valid driver's license with proof of insurance.

- A driving record that qualifies for insurability.

- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Effective communication skills.

- Honest, reliable, dependable, and professional demeanor.

- A respectful and dignified approach when interacting with individuals receiving services.

- Sound judgment and the ability to make rational decisions concerning service recipients.

- Capability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
