About the Role

Position Summary
The Program Coordinator at Access Safe Care, LLC plays a crucial role in overseeing and ensuring the effectiveness of the Compliance Program and Quality Improvement (QI) Program. The Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards while delivering high-quality services to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Compliance Program Oversight:
- Collaborate with the Compliance Officer to develop, maintain, and update the Compliance Program, including policies and procedures.
- Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and guidelines related to healthcare compliance and integrate them into the Compliance Program as necessary.
- Ensure that all employees and stakeholders are aware of and understand the Compliance Program.
- Promote a culture of compliance throughout the organization.

2. Quality Improvement Program Management:
- Implement and oversee the Quality Improvement (QI) Program, ensuring it aligns with HCBS settings rules, CMS guidelines, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to the QI Program.
- Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits, assessments, and reviews related to quality and compliance.
- Monitor, document, and analyze critical incidents, taking appropriate action to address and prevent recurrence.
- Work with case management entities to ensure effective communication regarding client needs and changes in health or support requirements.
- Implement a mechanism for clients and their families to provide feedback and ensure that feedback is considered in the QI process.

3. Training and Education:
- Develop and provide training programs on compliance, fraud, waste, and abuse detection, as well as strategies to prevent, identify, and mitigate harm.
- Ensure that staff is educated on policies, procedures, and regulations relevant to their roles.
- Maintain documentation of staff training and competency assessments.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

4. Communication and Reporting:
- Establish and maintain effective means of communication between the Compliance Officer and employees, including anonymous reporting mechanisms.
- Report on compliance program effectiveness regularly to senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Prepare and submit required compliance reports to regulatory authorities and oversee timely reporting of critical incidents.

5. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct periodic risk assessments to identify compliance risks and vulnerabilities.
- Develop and implement action plans to mitigate identified risks and vulnerabilities.

6. Response to Issues:
- Ensure that reports of misconduct are addressed promptly and in accordance with established procedures.
- Collaborate with the Compliance Officer in responding to and resolving compliance issues.
- Assist in maintaining documentation of investigations and responses.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field.

- Knowledge of healthcare compliance, regulations, and HCBS settings rules.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

- Experience in program coordination or a related role preferred.

- Certification in healthcare compliance (e.g., Certified in Healthcare Compliance - CHC) is a plus.


Additional Information:

- This position may require occasional travel.

- The Program Coordinator is expected to stay updated with changes in compliance regulations and requirements.
